MARK ZUCKERBERG, FOUNDER OF FACEBOOK, WEDS

Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, was married yesterday to his longtime girlfriend, Priscila Chan.
The wedding was held in Zuckerberg's backyard with fewer than 100 guests. They did not have a Sweet Temptations chocolate fountain but for desert they did have L.A. Burdick chocolate “mice,” which the couple had on their first date.
The bride wore a traditional wedding dress.

Charity in Chocolate

No one can resist chocolate. Did you know it could save a life?
Charity and Chocolate time will be held in Washington DC tomorrow from 6-9pm. It is a delicious fashion show that features more than 50 of DC's best chefs that will demonstrate their sweet talents with a variety of tasting stations.
Charity in Chocolate is hosted yearly by the Heart of America Foundation ( a DC based organization) which combines volunteer service and literacy to support the needs of at-risk children. Guests will be able to sample the creations. The night will end with a fashion show that features models dressed in chocolate and edible accessories. Yummy! A truly Sweet Temptation.

AFFORDING THOSE LITTLE EXTRAS AT YOUR WEDDING

In these really trying, hard economic times, there are some wedding expenses that could probably be left out without much love lost. That in no way means that you have to deprive yourself of the little luxuries you have been dreaming of such as the vintage car, designer shoes, fireworks and of course the candy buffet or a chocolate fountain, but it just means that you - as a couple should determine what is your priority based on your budget. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and here are my three top picks for wedding money wasters:

Monogram Mania - The satin ribbons, cake boxes with your names or initials printed on them in gold or silver-foil, and cocktail napkins will certainly look fabulous on the reception tables but are they really necessary? Or will color coordinated ones suffice? Perhaps a much better idea is to write and attach personalized tags onto them at a less expensive alternative.

Impractical Wedding Favors - I am sure you may all have little trinkets from weddings that you attended - marked for instance, David and Wendy, November 7, 2010" - lying around the house. Let's face it, nowadays, only relatives and close friends will keep these favors. The majority of guests will cheerfully throw them out with the garbage one day in a flurry of spring cleaning. Edible favors (like candy buffets) are much better alternatives and a far better band for your buck as well. If you decide to give favors, think about practical or edible ones. Some examples would be: CD's, wine stoppers, ice cream scoops, candles, soaps, cupcakes, scented oils, coffees and gourmet teas.

Ditch the Wedding Army - Tradition has it that the bride and groom give gifts or accessories to the bridal party and pay for their transportation. Your budget is likely to be blown if your bridal party is very large. Unless your family is huge and you want to include all of your relatives, there is really no need for an excessive entourage of bridesmaids and groomsmen, unless you prefer it that way.
